‘Reserve’ Squad to compete in 2020 Bangabandhu Gold Cup

With the fate of national team manager Noureddine Ould Ali yet to be determined Football Palestine  has learned that the PFA has elected to send only Fahed Attal and Makram Dabdoub to lead the squad in Bangladesh.

The national team is set to begin its title defence on Wednesday when they face off against hosts Bangladesh in the tournament’s opening game.

Germany based Mohammed Darwish and Dawoud Iraqi headline a squad of mostly fringe players with a sprinkling of experience in the form of Toufic Ali, Sameh Maraaba, and Khaled Salem.

Twelve of the 21 members of the team have never played for the senior team before with many earning their first invitations to a national team camp.

U19 striker Ribal Dahamsheh, who scored four goals in the U20 AFC Championship qualifying tournament, is amongst those first timers to be handed a call up.
