EFA Reduces Mahmoud Wadi’s suspension to four games

The Egyptian Football Association has decided to reduce the length of Mahmoud Wadi’s ban following an appeal filed by Pyramids FC.

The Palestinian striker was sent off in Pyramids’ 3-2 win over El-Entag El Harby for violent conduct and was slapped with an eight match ban following reports that he had insulted the referee.

Football Palestine understands that the ban will be reduced to four matches with no changes made to the monetary fine of 200,000 EGP levied against the player.

Wadi had sat out three matches due to the ban and will miss Pyramids FC’s encounter against Smouha tomorrow. The Gazan will be set for a return to Pyramids FC squad against league leaders Al-Ahly on Wednesday.

Pyramids FC are sixth in the Egyptian league table (3-3-1) and have yet to hit the heights expected of them in preseason. Wadi’s return will come as a welcome boost to a side that has been heavily reliant on Ramadan Sobhi for goal production.
