The current transfer window has seen a slew of national team players switch club allegiances. We take a look at which members of the Fida’i are on the move internationally.

| History Maker: Carlos Salom |
Carlos Salom, formerly of Union Española, left the Chilean Primera in search of greener pastures this summer. After being linked with a move to Zamalek in January the Argentine born striker decided not to head to the Middle East. Salom’s new port of call is Puebla FC of Liga MX. His move is a historic one, as he became the first Palestinian- and Asian national team player- to play in Mexico.
To date, he has appeared in two league games (101 minutes played) and started both cup matches- opening his account for Puebla by scoring the winner against Atalante from the spot.
Over in Egypt, Jonathan Cantillana became the first Palestinian to sign since the Egyptian FA deemed that Syrians and Palestinians be counted as domestic players. The former Ahli Al-Khaleel, Palestino, and Kuala Lumpur midfielder signed a four year deal with ENPPI.
Jaka Ihbeisheh has inked a 12-month deal with BEC Police Tero and has started every league game for the Bangkok-based side since starting.
Things aren’t looking up for Matías Jadue who left PKNS of the Malaysian Premier League to join Port in Thailand. Despite the high profile move, Matias Jadue played no part in any of the team’s games and has agreed to part ways with the club according to this source.
In Chile, Pablo Tamburrini and Alexis Norambuena have found clubs after spending the second half of last season without a club after leaving Shabab Al-Khaleel.
Tamburrini has returned to his hometown club San Antonio Unido where he will join forces with former Chile international Humberto Suazo as they attempt to lift the club from La Segunda (the third tier) to Primera B. The diminutive midfielder made his debut this week- coming on as a sub in the 29th minute in Las Lilas’s 2-0 win.
Alexis Norambuena has followed a similar path to Pablo Tamburrini joining Deportes Melipilla in the same division.
Still Looking
In Egypt, Ramzi Saleh has left El-Masry after falling down the pecking order at the club- he claimed in an interview with CBC that Saudi Side Taawoun contacted him before signing Essam El-Hadary.
Imad Zatara, who put together an excellent season with Mesaimeer in Qatar’s second tier was close to joining Penang in the Malaysian Super League only for the deal to fall through. Imad Zatara notched 12 goals in 17 games in the Qatar Gas League but since being linked with Penang- no news has been published in regards
Staying Put
The rest of the foreign based contingent seems to be set to continue with their current clubs. Yashir Pinto Islame confirmed to Football Palestine, that he’ll be staying with Perak for the foreseeable future.
Ahmad Awad is leading Dalkurd’s promotion charge in Sweden and will not depart the club with the Allsvenskan now in their sights. The playmaker has equalled his goal total from last season (6) and has notched more assists (3) than he did in 2016 (2).
A division above, Mahmoud Eid has been a regular with Kalmar FF this season and will be counted on to contribute to their ongoing relegation battle. Although yet to score, Eid has featured in 15 games, starting over half of them.
