The midfielder whose first foray abroad came in 2020 has moved for the third consecutive transfer window. His first professional foray abroad was to the Saudi second division where he notched seven goals in 26 league appearances. The midfielders consistency and two-way ability generated interest from Persib in Indonesia which resulted in their most successful season in years. The title race in Southeast Asia’s most popular league went down to the wire with Persib just missing out on the title- once again Rashid notched seven goals despite playing as a holding midfielder.

Rashid was voted into the Best XI of the Liga 1 season by the fans and his star grew further when he scored an absolute wonder goal against Saudi Arabia in the 2021 FIFA Arab Cup.

Rashid’s 3 year deal with Smouha- one of Egypt’s most consistent sides outside the Big 3- represents a just reward for a player who had gone to the United States to pursue a degree in Artificial Psychology and became a professional footballer almost by accident.

Rashid becomes the second Palestinian to play for Smouha SC following in the steps of former national team captain Ramzi Saleh who played for the side between 2011 and 2013.

Rashid who made his senior national team debut in 2018, has racked up 30 caps in less than four years scoring twice and establishing himself as one of the cornerstones of Makram Dabboub’s side.
