Palestine will no longer face Comoros on November 10th as was previously announced on various forums over the past month.
The reasons behind the cancellation are unknown as the Palestine Football Association (PFA) had neither initially announced the scheduling or cancellation of the friendly with the African nation.
Sources close to Football Palestine have also confirmed that the PFA had tried to schedule friendlies against Algeria and Egypt ahead of the FIFA Arab Cup but both sides pulled out. It’s worth noting that both sides could potentially play Palestine in the quarterfinal should they advance from Groups C and D, respectively.
Palestine’s encounter with Egypt was supposed to take place during a training camp in Cairo but with the withdrawal of the latter, Makram Dabboub’s side will travel to Qatar on November 17th- two weeks before their encounter with Morocco.
Palestine’s opponents will instead have a series of matches to prepare themselves for the showpiece competition of the Arab World. The only preparation the national team has had since facing Kyrgyzstan and Bangladesh in September was an internal training camp featuring the WBPL players of the national team.
Saudi Arabia will lock horns with Australia and Vietnam on the 11th and 16th of this month and while the Saudi Pro League will resume play later this month, the league will be on hiatus until Christmas, giving Herve Renard the ability to select his strongest side.
The second Adnan Hamed era got off to a good start following a 2-0 loss in the Iraqi’s first game back in charge of Al-Nashama. The Jordanians responded with a 2-1 win over Bahrain before dismantling Malaysia and Uzbekistan by a combined score of 7-0. A pair of European teams will serve as the final test for Jordan as they face Kosovo and Belarus over the international break.
Morocco, who will be competing with a side based largely on those playing in the local league, will take on Bahrain in Manama on the November 12th will also square off against Singapore in Abu Dhabi on November 16.
