It has been a busy week for schedulers in Kuala Lumpur; this week started with news of a fourth postponement to Asian World Cup qualification. Matches that were set to be played in March 2020 were delayed to June 2020 and then to October 2020 and finally to March of this year.
As a result, only four matches are due to be played this month. Australia will travel to Nepal while Mongolia will play two matches (against Tajikistan and Japan) in the window giving up a home game in the process.
Palestine’s group will also see match played in March. Saudi Arabia was scheduled to host Yemen on March 25th but in an 11th hour switch, announced by the Palestine Football Association, they will also play host to Palestine five days later.
Saudi Arabia were scheduled to play two matches in this window, with the March 30th fixture slated away to Singapore.
They will now instead bring their penultimate game forward and play Palestine in Riyadh.
The remaining matches in Group D will be played in a centralized location in June. No word yet on which country will host the remaining games but Palestine could stand to lose two home fixtures.
