According to Palestinian and Indonesian sources, preparations are being made for a Palestine-Indonesia friendly. FIFA has the match date listed as the 22nd of the month.
The match is set to be played outside Jakarta in Solo Manahan stadium as the intimidating Gelora Bung Karno is being renovated. Indonesia will use the match as a warm up before the squad’s trip to West Asia to meet Jordan in a friendly and Iran in a World Cup Qualifier. Indonesia overcame Turkmenistan to get to the group stage, Palestine missing out after losing to Thailand on aggregate.
No word yet on the Palestine squad that will take part. Palestine has been manager-less since Mousa Bezaz’s contract was not renewed after World Cup qualification failure. A temporary local coach will likely be appointed for the match.
[Update]: Bezaz’s assistant Abdel-Nasser Barakat will take charge of the NT on an interim basis. 1st game in charge will be vs. Indonesia.
