The New Wadi? Badr Mousa signs with El-Entag El-Harby

In a much rumored move, Egyptian Premier League club El-Entag El-Harby (Military Production) has signed Badr Mousa after a two week trial period.

Mousa got his professional start in football with Al-Qadsia in Gaza before moving to powerhouse Khadamat Rafah two seasons ago. Since debuting at age 18 he has notched 22 league goals to go along with three goals in cup competition.

The 21 year old originally underwent trials alongside his club teammate Sami Qadan (23) but the defender was not signed by the Cairo based club.

Mousa who can play across the front three positions in a 4-3-3 format becomes the latest in a long line of Palestinians to play in the Egyptian Premier League joining current internationals Mahmoud Wadi (Pyramids FC) and Mohammed Saleh (Al-Masry).

Since Mahmoud Wadi’s rapid adaptation to the league, Egyptian clubs have increasingly looked to Gaza to unearth the next superstar. Signing players before they have even featured with the national team. In 2018, Al-Ahly signed Mahmoud El-Silmy (also 21 at the time), although he chose to move on after a lack of opportunities with the first team. In that same year, Pyramids beat Al-Ahly to the even younger Hamed Hamdan (18 at the time) who has found slightly more success- debuting professionally while on loan at Tanta last season.

Badr Mousa has agreed to a three year deal with the Military club that finished comfortably in midtable last season with a 44 point haul but only managed 35 goals over 34 games.

Besides leading scorer, Bassem Morsy (8), no other player had notched more than three goals for the club. Badr Mousa will most likely start his career as an option off the bench with the hopes that he can consistently contribute in attack and help Morsy shoulder the load.

The Egyptian Premier League kicks off on December 11th.
