Mahmoud Eid signs with Qatari side Mesaimeer

Mahmoud Eid has settled on a new club weeks after announcing his intent to void his contract with Indonesian side Persebaya. Eid was one of three Palestinians who plied his trade in Indonesia and became the third and final one to announce his exit following the league’s ongoing suspensions since the outbreak of the Coronavirus Pandemic.

In a heartfelt post, Eid left the door open to a return to the Persebaya but will join next season in the Qatari second tier with Mesaimeer.

Details of the contract have yet to be released. Through nine games this season, Mesaimeer are fifth in the table on 11 points nine points off the top spot and six points away from a promotion playoff spot.
