Palestine announce 28-man squad to face Yemen, Uzbekistan

The PFA has announced the full squad called up to face Yemen and Uzbekistan next week in a pair of crunch World Cup qualifiers.

The national team has held camp in Qatar since November 4th, where they will remain for one week. Al-Fida’i will then jet off to Bahrain- Yemen’s home ground due to security reasons- for their first encounter on Thursday, November 14th.

Five days later, Palestine will face Uzbekistan in Tashkent and will be hoping to sweep the group favorites after registering a 2-0 shock in Al-Ram in September.

In preparation for these encounters, Noureddine Ould Ali has called up the eight Palestinians Abroad- largest contingent of foreign based players to date.

Jonathan Cantillana, who returned to something resembling regular football at club level has earned his first call up since the 2019 Asian Cup. While he has not set the league alight in Indonesia, he did chip in with his first assist last week.

Ahmed Awad, who had his best season of his career- 12 goals and two assists in 20 starts- remains ignored by the coaching staff.

The other seven foreign based players in the squad are Nazmi Albadawi, Islam Batran, Saleh Chihadeh, Oday Dabbagh, Yaser Hamed, Yashir Islame, & Mahmoud Wadi.

The full squad is as follows:
